News from South Africa

May we thank our donors for the visit during February and all the kind gestures to our less privileged people, all of whom are most grateful for the generous contributions made by the delegation.

The good news is that we have managed to secure a Contractor to construct the Madela family homestead.

An official sod turning event was held on the 30th April at which the family and community expressed their sincere gratitude for this wonderful donation.

The Contractor again today visited the site and construction will commence as soon as next week. We will of course keep you advised of progress and regularly send progress photos. It is anticipated that the homestead consisting of two bedrooms and a combined kitchen/dining/lounge area, will be completed before the end of the month.

Following our discussions we have decided to construct the smaller type house and keep the remaining funds for another project of your choice.

Due to their financial circumstances the family has no furniture, so we will utilize some of the funds to furnish the house.

The school children have enjoyed lots of days off from school as a result of the Easter holidays and extra days around the elections but will be starting to prepare for their mid year examinations now. Lindor, Ayabonga and Eddie are all well and still talking about the wonderful times they spent with the delegation.
